Association of American University Presses (AAUP)

Association of American University Presses (AAUP) is the largest and oldest association of nonprofit scholarly publishers in the world. AAUP's 121 members include university presses, scholarly societies, research institutions, and museums.


Formally established in 1937, the AAUP promotes the work and influence of university presses, provides cooperative marketing efforts, and helps its presses respond to the changing economy and environment.

Usually in accord with AAP on issues of copyright, fair use and licensing.


Current Issue: Litigation with AAP and PEN American Center against U.S. Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
