American Film Marketing Association (AFMA) is a trade association providing the independent motion picture and television industry with marketing support services such as the American Film Market (AFM), government relations, international affairs advocacy, an arbitration program, statistical data, and information services.

Based in Los Angeles with a satellite office in London, the Association was founded in 1980 by independent distributors who sought to build and protect their businesses through the creation of a world-class motion picture trade show, the American Film Market.

AFMA's more than 170 member companies from 16 countries, including two dozen financial institutions, now includes companies in the U.S., the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim. Their common bond is the production and worldwide distribution of independent English language motion picture and television programs.

Usually in accord with AAP on issues of copyright, fair use and licensing.
